About the MOONDROP Starfield III
From the product page on linsoul.com.
The Starfield series, one of MOONDROP's evergreen dynamic driver lines, is now in its third generation — Starfield III, marking a radical departure from its predecessors. It has a dual dynamic driver system with a golden combination: it combines the treble extension advantage of the small-sized dynamic driver with the bass advantage of the large-sized dynamic driver. A brand-new acoustic architecture, more scientific material application, and an all-new configuration perform a reimagined starfield concerto for you.
The 7.8mm miniature dynamic driver is equipped with a DLC diamond-like carbon dome composite flexible suspension diaphragm. This helps to obtain smoother treble extension and richer sound details. Simultaneously, the flexible suspension helps achieve lower distortion under wide dynamics and a lower-Q mid-bass crossover point, resulting in a smoother transition with more natural imaging and timbre. The DLC coating further enhances treble detail and smooth extension.
Utilizing an inner-and-outer equal-volume composite dual-magnetic circuit architecture, the 10mm bass dynamic driver of Starfield III is designed for large dynamic long strokes. In the bass range, where fast and substantial dynamic responses are necessary, this driver outperforms standard two-in-one coaxial bass drivers, delivering higher efficiency, greater stability, and lower-distortion bass performance. The wood dome diaphragm boasts excellent rigidity and internal damping, facilitating smooth high-frequency extension and impressive acoustic properties during frequency crossover and in the mid-range.
